Shelby Huber is a professional clarinetist based in Southern California. Playing the clarinet for over 25 years, she is a versatile musician and has 

performed in various Orchestras, Operas, musicals, and chamber ensembles. Shelby received a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet performance from California State University Northridge in 2007 where she studied with Dr. Julia Heinen. She is currently the Assistant Principal Clarinetist of the Temecula Valley Symphony, and performs frequently with the Fine Arts Network. Additionally she has been Assistant Principal Clarinetist and member of the board for the Valley Opera and Performing Arts Company, which she has been a member of for over 15 years. One of her most memorable performances to date is when she and some of her other favorite musician friends had the opportunity to perform on the Grammys in 2020 with Ariana Grande! 

Along with performing in various ensembles, Shelby is also very passionate about chamber music and performs in several chamber groups. The Huber Duo and the trio Triple Play, which consists of violin, clarinet, and French horn. Shelby also loves Irish Music and performs in an Irish band called Celtic Camerata where she plays Irish flute and whistles. She also likes playing sea shanties and pirate music, and has performed in several fun pirate and Rennisance events.

Aside from performing, Shelby is an amazing music teacher and is very passionate about music education. She teaches private lessons for clarinet, flute, ukulele, and beginner piano. She has many talented students she is proud of, and also enjoys coaching group classes at her local high schools and middle schools where she can help other students to succeed and feel inspired to make music. Shelby also taught and owned her own Kindermusik business for years, where she gained lots of valuable experience teaching music classes for babies and young children, which helped her to understand the benefits of music education for all ages. Shelby also just became a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (Temecula Branch), and is looking forward to connecting with other great educators in the Temecula Valley. 

Shelby has recently been hired as Manager of the Temecula Valley Youth Symphony. She is excited to continue to work hard and to provide the students with a wonderful experience making music together. Since moving to Menifee with her husband Steve Huber in 2018, she has enjoyed dedicating her time to finding ways to share her love of music with others in her community. 

Her hobbies include spending time with her friends, family, husband, and cats!  She also has a calligraphy business and is thankful for opportunities to create beautiful writing for weddings and special events.
